Report At the beginning of September a mathematical conference entitled „Toruń Summer School of Mathematics" was held in Toruń. It contained talks concerning calculus, topology, algebra, probability, statistics and basics of mathematics. Lectures were given daily and among lecturers were professors from the Mikołaj Kopernik University (dr hab. A. Rozkosz, dr hab. S. Kasjan) and invited guests from Gdansk University of Technology (dr Z. Dzedzej), Warsaw Unviersity (dr hab. P. Zakrzewski) and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (prof. dr hab. T. Banakh). Also students gave many talks. There were three participants of the School from our Society: Piotr Idzik, Jolanta Marzec and Barbara Małek. Two of them, Jolanta and Piotr, presented their talks, „Wprowadzenie do teorii ciał uporz±dkowanych" (Introduction to the ordered fields theory) and „Zbiory niemierzalne a równanie Cauchy'ego" (Non-measurable sets and the Cauchy equation) respectively. The Toruń Summer School of Matehmatics was a brilliant idea - the participants were able to learn the problems of modern mathematics and get to know students from other universities on the afternoon integration meetings held by the organisers - members of the Mathematical Society and the student council of the Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń.We hope that the Toruń Summer School of Mathematics will be held in the coming years, where the students will have an opportunity to learn about their favorite branch of science (and more), while having great fun at the same time.
