During the talk we will tell some things about one of the biggest revolutions in mathematics - about creation of the notions of the derivative of a function and a differential equation. We will use them to compute the age of a certain mummy and to model an epidemy outbreak. Along the way we will pick up some probability theory and a few proofs, using another mathematical revolution - proof by contradiction.
